Morgan Kolkmeyer Biography
Morgan Kolkmeyer is an American Meteorologist currently working at the WGN WeatherCenter team as a meteorologist since joining the station in May 2017. Currently, Kolkmeyer is the weather anchor for the WGN Morning News, weekdays from 4-6 am.
As a child, Morgan was lively and also musically inclined, athletic, and energetic. At the age of four, she started playing basketball through Harlem High School where she played as the school’s shooting guard. However, at the age of seven, she started her piano classes, taking the course for seven years.
Morgan graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and a minor in Applied Mathematics in 2013. Her passion for weather began in August 2004 when she experienced Hurricane Charley. Since then, Morgan has gone storm chasing across the Great Plains.
Before joining WGN-TV, Morgan worked as a meteorologist and news anchor for WREX’s 13 News Today and 13 News at Noon for three years. Previously, she also worked at KQDS-TV in Duluth, Minnesota, as a meteorologist and reporter.
