Nadine Wimmer is a renowned Emmy award-winning journalist currently co-anchoring KSL News at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 10 p.m. As a reporter, Nadine covers education and leads the station’s literacy initiative “Read Today.”
Wimmer moved up the ranks in the KSL 5 newsroom as a weekend anchor, political reporter, general assignment reporter, and producer. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, she started her broadcasting career at KSL Television as a University of Utah intern.
This was after earning her master’s degree in political communication and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Utah. In addition, she attended a fellows program on education and journalism through the University of Washington.
Her commitment to education has ignited an immense excitement about her involvement in Reading Today, the KSL’s high-impact reading program. Read Today is a program aimed at educating, motivating, and celebrating reading accomplishments and encourages families to read together.
Nadine is also a recipient of a regional Emmy for her coverage of the Utah teacher crisis. Read Today received the Emmy Service to America Award in recognition of its services to literacy in Utah.
She enjoys the outdoors and outdoor recreation in Utah’s mountains and red rock country in her spare time. She enjoys trail jogging, mountain biking, hiking, Alpine skiing, and skate skiing on a regular basis. Nadine is a voracious reader who is also studying Spanish.
