Nancy O’Dell is a seasoned American television host and entertainment journalist. She is best known for serving as a co-anchor of the syndicated entertainment news show Entertainment Tonight from January 3, 2011, to August 2, 2019.

O’Dell attended Coastal Academy High School (no longer existing). She joined Clemson University, where she graduated with a summa cum laude bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1990. At the college, she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma.
In 1987, Nancy won the Miss South Carolina pageant and represented the state at Miss America in 1988 winning a preliminary swimsuit award. In 1990, she finished 1st runner-up to Gina Tolleson in the Miss South Carolina USA pageant. Later the same year, Nancy won Miss World.
Nancy began her broadcasting career at WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as a reporter and anchor. She later shifted to work as a morning news anchor and crime reporter at WCBD-TV in Charleston, South Carolina. From her excellent work, she was honored by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Award(all media, South Carolina).
In 1993, Nancy joined NBC’s WTVJ in Miami co-anchoring the 5:30 news alongside Jackie Nespral. She left the station in 1995 and relocated to Las Vegas where she worked as an entertainment reporter for the nationally syndicated tabloid show; A Current Affair until 1996 when the show ended.
Starting in 1996, O’Dell joined the entertainment news program Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributed to NBC News’ Today and Dateline NBC. Nancy has covered notable events such as the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, and Golden Globe Awards.
In 2004 and 2005, she co-hosted the Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions. She further co-hosted the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on WNBC from 2004 to 2006. Nancy co-hosted the Miss USA 2006 pageant alongside Drew Lachey, the Miss Universe 2006 pageant alongside Carlos Ponce, and the Miss USA 2007 pageant alongside Tim Vincent.
She co-hosts the most-watched entertainment news program in the world, Entertainment Tonight. Before this show, Nancy co-anchored Access Hollywood for 13 years. In addition, she contributed reports to CBS’ The Early Show as well as NBC’s Today and Dateline.
