Nicole Perez Biography
Nicole Perez is a renowned American journalist currently serving as an anchor and reporter at WPLG Local 10 News in Miami, Florida. Perez previously worked as a graphic operator for the Miami Heat’s television.
Born and raised in Miami, Nicole graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. Nicole joined WPLG with more than five years of production experience at WSVN-TV and four years of graphic design for the Miami Heat’s television network, Heat TV.
As a reporter at Local 10 News, Perez traveled to Normandy, France to cover the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, as well as Rome, Italy covering Holy Week, and to Paris, France to cover the fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral. In addition, Nicole covered Hurricane Irma in 2017 and traveled to Puerto Rico to report on the damage left behind after Hurricane Maria.
Nicole has covered numerous local news stories and after the trip to Normandy found a special connection to the WWII veterans in the community and has proudly told their stories. Her traffic reporting and her field reporting eventually led her to an evening anchor position, Where she is currently the primary co-anchor of Local 10 News at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m.
At WPLG Channel 10, Perez started off as a traffic reporter in February 2018 when she dropped to anchor the station’s evening news.
When Nicole is not working, she likes staying active by running and going to the gym. Perez has run five half-marathons in various U.S. cities and won first place in an NPC women’s figure competition.
