Nikolina Kamenova Dobreva best known as Nina Dobrev is a Canadian model and actress. She is known for her role as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in the series The Vampire Diaries.

Nina started her career, by playing the role of Mia in the drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Dobrev appeared in several feature films in the mid-2000s, including Fugitive Pieces and Away from Her. The star left Degrassi to star in The CW’s series The Vampire Diaries, an adaptation of the book of the same name, playing the role of Elena Gilbert.

Nina crossed over to The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, as doppelgänger character Tatia. Dobrev announced via Instagram that she would be leaving The Vampire Diaries after portraying Elena for six seasons in mid-2015.
