Perry Mattfeld is an American actress best known for her appearances as Mel in Shameless, FrankenGirl in Wizards of Waverly Place, and Murphy Mason in In the Dark, a CW crime comedy-drama.
Mattfeld began her career as a ballet dancer when she was five years old, and she studied for nine years under Debbie Allen’s tutelage. She was a full-fledged Mattel employee by the age of 12 when she joined Mattel’s American Girl Dolls music theater troupe and played Kristen Larson and Kit Kittredge. Allen recommended Perry go out with her dance, which led to her acting career.
She quit performing after high school to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting at the University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts. She recently received her B.F.A. Summa Cum Laude and her Bachelor of Arts in Film. She also received a 4.6 GPA at LA Polytechnic Institute.
