Pete Ferryman is an American Emmy award-winning journalist who has been working at Fox 12 News, KPTV, Portland, Oregon as a news anchor since September 2015. He anchors the noon, 5 o’clock, and 6 o’clock news each weekday. Due to his anchoring duties, Ferryman has received an Emmy Award and an Associated Press Award for a 2008 documentary and has also won several awards for his reporting, anchoring, and volunteer work.
Ferryman began his career at KVAL-TV in Eugene, Oregon, as a news reporter and anchor from February 1992 to July 1995, He then moved to KLAS-TV in Las Vegas in 1995, serving as a morning anchor, and left in May 2000. Luckily, while Pete was at the station, the Associated Press for CA/NV awarded him the Best Anchor.
For a period of 15 years, Pete moved back to Oregon to anchor Good Day Oregon. During that time, Good Day Oregon won several Emmy Awards for Best AM Newscast. Moreover, after 20 years of getting up at 2.30 a.m., Ferryman was very grateful to move to the evening anchor role at KPTV in 2015.
