Pete Williams is an American journalist and former government official who served as a television correspondent for NBC News since 1993. Previously, he served in the administration of President George H. W. Bush. 

Williams attended and graduated from Natrona County High School, the same high school as his fellow Bush Administration alumnus Dick Cheney in 1970. At high school, Pete was a member of the school’s award-0winning debating team and later won an award due to his public speaking.

In 1974, Williams graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Journalism and History. He also spent a year studying in a Stanford-sponsored overseas program.

Williams was a news director and reporter for the KTWO television and KTWO radio stations located in Casper from 1974 to 1985. Williams also worked as a director for the Wyoming Future Project from 1985 to 1986.

NBC contracted Williams as a Washington D.C.-based justice reporter in March 1993. When he was covering the Boston Marathon bombings back in 2013, he was lauded by numerous media commentators for preferring to report incidents in a restrained, cautionary way.
