Phil Anaya is a renowned American journalist currently working as a weekend anchor at KENS 5 News in San Antonio, Texas, the United States of America. Anaya comes to KENS 5 News from KFOX in El Paso, Texas where he worked as a bureau reporter. He also served as a multimedia journalist for KMSB in Tucson.

Phil was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He grew up playing soccer but left the state to join Valparaiso University in northwest Indiana. After two years at the University, Phil transferred to New Mexico State Univerity where he received his Bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication with a minor in marketing.

While still in college, Phil gained a lot of experience while working as a multimedia journalist for KMSB in Tucson. After graduating in May 2019, Anaya landed his first job as a bureau reporter for KFOX in El Paso, Texas. At the station, Phil covered everything from severe weather to politics all across southern New Mexico territory. He later moved to San Antonio in June 2011.

During his free time, Phil likes spending time with his family at a variety of places across San Antonio. One of their favorite sports is The DoSeum.
