Phil Shuman Biography
Phil Shuman is an Emmy-award-winning news anchor and reporter from Southern California who presently works at KTTV FOX 11 in Los Angeles since February 2002. He is an investigative reporter for the “FOX 11 Investigates” unit and also a substitute anchor for FOX 11 News at 10.
Shuman joined Williams College in Massachusetts and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Economics. Phil began his journalism career as a reporter, anchor, and sportscaster at KFDX in Wichita Falls, Texas, an NBC affiliate. Moreover, Shuman moved to KWTV, the CBS station in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Later on, he moved t Los Angeles and KNBC.
Before joining FOX, Phil traveled the world as an LA-based news correspondent for the nationally syndicated magazine show EXTRA. Prior to that, Shuman spent 13 years with Channel 4 News in Los Angeles as part of KNBC-TV’s top-rated 11 pm. The Channel 4 News Nightside newscast and was also an NBC Network News contributor.

Furthermore, Shuman has hosted programs on LA Cityview Channel 35, LA’s cable TV station, like “Your Council District Close-Up,” and the “LA in Focus.” As well, he wrote a monthly columnist for the Sherman Oaks-Studio City News and a weekly talk show on KABC Radio AM 790. Phil has also been an adjunct lecturer in the journalism department at the Annenberg School at USC and written for the Jewish Journal. Besides, Shuman was an instructor on media relations during emergencies for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
