Phillip Palmer is an American news anchor who currently works as the weekday midday anchor for ABC7 Eyewitness News. Palmer further reports on solutions to community problems for Eyewitness News. Previously, he had worked as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor at the station since 1998.

Regarding his education, Palmer attended high school in West Monroe, Louisiana, where he graduated in 1981. He then joined Northeast Louisiana University for a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in radio/TV/film.

Phil started his career in West Monroe back in 1985 as a sports reporter at KNOE AM/FM radio. He then relocated to KAKE in Wichita, Kansas in 1990 to work as a weekend sports anchor. In 1994, he further shifted to KCNC in Denver, Colorado, serving as the morning news anchor.

Additionally, he joined his current station in 1998, starting as a morning show anchor, weekend anchor, and general assignment reporter.

In March 2007, Phillip donated a kidney to his ailing friend, Dale Davis.
