Rachel Burden is an English newsreader, radio news editor, and presenter. Since 2011 she has been presenting the BBC Radio 5 Live weekday breakfast show. She is also part of the BBC Breakfast‘s main weekend presenters.

From 1987 to 1993, she attended Wycombe High School, a girls’ secondary school in High Wycombe, where she studied English, History, Politics, and Practical Music at the A-level. She studied broadcasting journalism at Cardiff University, where she graduated from Trinity College, Dublin.

She presents 5 live shows, the Breakfast Program. Burden began her radio career as a reporter for BBC Radio Suffolk and joined Radio 5 live in 2003. She has worked extensively on the network, broadcasting from Rome, Dublin, Kenya, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Burden’s career began as a reporter for BBC Radio Suffolk and joined BBC Radio Bristol, where she co-hosted the early morning breakfast show after working for 1 year and 3 months.
