Rebecca Jarvis Biography
Rebecca Jarvis is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist currently serving as the Chief Business, Economics, and Technology Correspondent for ABC News. She is also the host, creator, and managing director of Real Biz with Rebecca Jarvis and the podcast No Limits with Rebecca Jarvis which features game-changing women. In addition, Jarvis was a finalist on Season 4 of The Apprentice.
As the Chief Business, Technology & Economics Correspondent, Rebecca reports for all ABC News programs, including Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline, 20/20, and This Week with George Stephanopoulos.
In her career, Jarvis has conducted news-making interviews with some of the biggest names in business, including Warren Buffett, Richard Branson, Sheryl Sandberg, Jamie Dimon, Jessica Alba, Bill, and also Melinda Gates. Prior to joining ABC News, Jarvis worked as a co-host of CBS This Morning: Saturday and Business and Economics correspondent for CBS News. Before joining CBS, she worked at CNBC for three years reporting on the market news from the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and the New York Mercantile Exchange. Additionally, Rebecca is a regular contributor to NBC News including the Today Show and Nightly News.
Jarvis started her career as a writer for Crain’s Chicago Business and Business 2.0. She also worked in investment banking and foreign currency trading, working as a short-term interest rate trader on Citigroup’s foreign exchange desk in London. Later on, she worked at Banc of America Securities in Chicago as an investment banking analyst.
Rebecca is a graduate of the University of Chicago receiving a degree in Economics and Constitutional Law. After receiving the University of Chicago Dean’s Grant, she studied European banking and financial markets and the formation of the European Union at the Université Sciences Po in Paris, France. Moreover, she graduated from St. Paul Academy and Summit School in 1999.
