Richard Chamberlain is an American award-winning actor famous for his appearance as a teen idol in the role of the TV Show Dr. Kildare from 1961 to 1966. He won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for the TV Series, Dr. Kildare (1961), Shogun (1980), and the mini-series The Thorn Birds (1983). In addition, he was the first role character to play Jason Bourne in the movie The Bourne Identity.

Richard won the Golden Apple Award for the Male Star of the year in 1980. At the Sitges-Catalan International Film Festival, he bagged the Clavell de Plata Award for Best Actor for The Last Wave. Richard has also appeared in several TV mini-series, such as Shogun in 1980, Rescue 8 in 1960, The Thorn Birds in 1983, The Deputy in 1961, and Island Son in 1989 just to mention a few. Chamberlain has also been working in musical theatre and performed classical stage roles.
