Rob Wolchek Biography
Rob Wolchek is an American investigative reporter who presently works for WJBK-TV Fox 2 News in Detroit, Michigan. He’s famous for his “Hall of Shame.” In 1997, Wolchek became a member of the Fox 2 News team.
Rob began his broadcasting career in 1978 as a DJ at KRAZ, a country music station in Farmington, New Mexico. He began his career as a radio disk jockey before moving on to work as a news reporter for stations in Fresno and Bakersfield.
Furthermore, he was working as a traffic reporter for KNX radio in Los Angeles when a friend informed him that he was in charge of a local television station’s intern program. He registered, but he didn’t really get anywhere until another intern went to San Francisco to cover the 1989 earthquake.
Wolchek’s first television break came when he covered the Loma Prieta earthquake in San Francisco. His first full-time television employment was with KGET-TV in Bakersfield, California. For his work as the Scambuster at KJEO-TV in Fresno, he earned several accolades, including his first Emmy.
