Roop Raj is an American journalist who works as an anchor and reporter for Fox 2 News in Detroit, Michigan. He has won an Emmy for his work in the category of Best Continuing Coverage. In addition, for his breaking news weather coverage, he earned an Associated Press first-place prize. While working in New Orleans, he covered Hurricane Katrina.
Raj began his career at the age of 14 in Troy, Michigan, where he developed and hosted his own television show. He worked at the CBS and ABC stations in Lansing, Michigan, throughout his first two years at Michigan State University.
Roop was later hired to anchor the news in Flint, Michigan, where he worked for four years as a news and weather anchor.
