Ryan Browne is an American journalist currently working as a technology reporter for CNBC in London, covering a wide range of issues from fintech to video games. Previously, Browne served as a national security reporter for CNN based in Washington, D.C. from December 2015 to January 2021.
Furthermore, Ryan was an MBA intern at Rakuten, in Tokyo, Japan. He also worked as an embedded advisor to the Afghan National Army with the NATO training mission, ISAF, for two years in Afghanistan.
Browne also served as a project officer and senior advisor to the Afghan National Defense University for two years. As well, from September 2008 to August 2011, Ryan served as the director of International Security Studies.
Furthermore, in 2013, Browne received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Afghan National Army Officers Academy. Additionally, in the same year, he received a certificate of recognition for Outstanding Service to the Afghan Nation from the Afghan Ministry of Defense.
Regarding his education, Browne received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from Harvard University in 2007. In addition, Ryan joined Columbia Business School in 2013 where he received his Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
