Sasha Jones is an American journalist who is best known for helping consumers with their problems as a part of the NBC6 Responds team. Since joining the Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area, in May 2018, Jones has managed long-term visual projects with viewership on broadcast and digital platforms with local and national distribution. Moreover, she worked with global brands to broadcast crisis communication plans and statements.
Additionally, she developed financial, consumer, and business-related content for distribution on TV, digital websites, and on-demand platforms. Sasha has also served as a consumer advocate helping to retrieve more than $500,000 for viewers and as reporter and producer of the Emmy Award-winning news segment “Hidden History: South Florida’s Black Burial Grounds.” Moreover, she has maintained connections to sources, community members, and grassroots organizations to elevate the company’s brand and reach.

Jones began her career as a News Intern at WJBK Fox-2 News for four months in May 2009. She was responsible for creating a resume reel of breaking news stories with anchoring. Additionally, she also managed the news desk and assisted the news assignment editor with the development of news stories. Further, Jones also researched news leads, performed beat checks, followed up on developing stories and served at the WKFR 103.3 Cumulus Stations.
In September 2009, Jones joined Public Media Network as a Production Intern where she assisted in shooting and producing the coverage of city events, government meetings, and news. Further, Jones worked under daily deadlines to complete deliverables needed for broadcast and digital.
Sasha also produced a Regional Edward R. Murrow award-winning TV project on the 60th Anniversary of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s Death. She also broke the City Hall “Blacklist” which showed local activists on a city hall escort list leading to multiple federal lawsuits. Most notably, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists as well as the Kappa Alpha Sorority.
