Seth Meyers Biography
Seth Meyers is an American comedian, political commentator, writer, television host, actor, and producer. He is the current host of Late Night with Seth Meyers, a late-night television talk show that is telecast on NBC.
Previously, he worked as the head writer and actor for the popular tv show, Saturday Night Live. This program aired between 2001-14. Other projects which have raised him to stardom are; New Year’s Eve (2011), and Documentary Now! (2015).
Seth was born in Illinois. However, he was brought up in diverse environments across the country. When he was in college, he discovered his passion for comedy and joined Boom Chicago, an “improv” comedy troupe. He started touring Europe and, with no time, gained a lot of attention. His time and credit rose to a peak during a show in Chicago when he attracted the attention of the producers of “Saturday Night Live.”
He soon became a regular member of the show, attracting international fame. After hosting several comedy stints on TV, Seth was given the chance to host the Late Night With Seth Meyers Show. He has also featured in the ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth,’ ‘Spring Breakdown,’ and ‘New Year’s Eve.

After his graduation from Manchester West High School in Manchester, New Hampshire, he also got a degree from Northwestern University.
After his graduation from the university, Seth went out in search of a stable job as a comedian. He met ‘Boom Chicago,’ an “improv” comedy troupe based in Amsterdam. Seth and his brother, Josh, joined the troupe and worked with them for the next few years.
While in Amsterdam, Seth combined “improv” with other ventures. He collaborated with comedian Jill Benjamin and staged a duo show named ‘Pick-Ups and Hiccups.’ The show was a big hit in Amsterdam and was filmed five nights a week in various theaters across the city.
All along, Seth was a major fan of “Saturday Night Live,” which was one of the longest-running variety TV shows in the United States. However, he did not know how to break into it. His show with Jill Benjamin took him and flew him to various cities across Europe. On one such occasion, he hosted the show in Chicago, where it attracted the attention of the producers of “Saturday Night Live.”
Following his performance, he was slotted for an interview in New York. Seth reported to New York and was hired for the show.
