Seungkwan Biography
Boo Seung-kwan also known as Seungkwan, is a South Korean singer and entertainer under Pledis Entertainment. He is a member of the South Korean boy group Seventeen under the Vocal Team. Aside from that Seungkwan is popular for his entertainment show like Unexpected Q, Prison Life of Fools, and Idol Dictation Contest. He is also part of the special unit BSS alongside Hoshi and DK.
Seungkwan was born in Busan but grew up in Jeju-do, South Korea. He attended his high school at Seoul Broadcasting High School, where he took part in various competitions. In 2012, he was featured in Pledis Entertainment after his video went viral while singing. He become a member of the South Korean boy band, Seventeen with the extended play 17 Carat while still in high school. After graduating from school in 2016, two years later he released his single “Kind of Love” for the soundtrack of the series Mother.
Later after, Boo joined Hoshi and DK in a subunit titled BSS and released their debut single “Just Do It”. Apart from his singer career, he also appeared in the talk show Unexpected Q. He was also awarded the 2018 MBC Entertainment Awards. In addition, Seungkwan also appeared in the talk show Five Cranky Brothers as well as in Prison Life of Fools. As of 2021, he took part in the soundtrack for the series Lovestruck in the City with a song titled “The Reason”. Additionally, Boo also released the single “Go” for the soundtrack of the series Record of Youth.
He together with Super Junior Eunhyuk and Kang Ho-dong was cast in the TV series Job Dongsan and the Idol Dictation Contest. Seungkwan also made an appearance on the new tvN badminton program Racket Boys, which also included Olympic champion Oh Sang-uk among others. In 2022, Boo received the “Male Idol Entertainer” award at the Korea First Brand Daesang.
