Shaun Chaiyabhat is an American journalist who is currently working as an anchor and reporter for WCBV5 News as well as a general assignment reporter for WCBV Channel 5, Boston’s News Leader. He co-anchors the weekend evening news with Nathalie Pozo.
Following his education, he is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in journalism. Later on, Chaiyabhat earned a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Chaiyabhat got his start in his career in Illinois in 2000. Back then, he worked behind the scenes before appearing on-air at WICS-TV and later moving to WCIA-TV.
In 2006, he went to work for WREG-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. He then later joined the NewsCenter 5 team in 2016 after leaving WKMG-TV in Orlando, Florida. Currently, he broadcasts New England’s most talked-about stories, “day and night”. His reporting style spans from light and uplifting to crime and politics. He tells his stories with compassion which is a mindset that he keeps while reporting.
