Sue Serio Biography
Sue Serio is an American five times Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist and a weather co-anchor of Good day Philadelphia working for FOX 29 since 1997. For over two decades, she has covered wild winds at the shore, thunderstorms, and blizzards.
Sue worked at WIVB-TV, Buffalo, New York CBS affiliate as a co-anchor of WAKE-UP. She also served as a News at Noon anchor before joining Fox 29. Before that, she was a feature reporter and weather anchor at WHYY-TV 12 (PBS), Philadelphia.
Serio attended Mississippi State University and graduated with her certificate in Broadcast Meteorology in 1995. She is also a cum laude graduate of Townson University in Maryland. While receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, she also started her professional career in radio at WMAR-FM, Baltimore. She was a radio host for WBAL, Baltimore, and at WMGK, Philadelphia she was a producer. In addition, she was a co-host of WSTW-FM and WKSZ-FM.
She was nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for her five times Emmy awards. Sue also won the Individual ASchievement Award for Weathercaster in 1994. She also volunteers in community works like Tyler Arboretum, the SPCA, and Media Theatre. Serio is also a former member of the Advisory Board of the Main Line Animal Rescue and the Board of the Camden Children’s Garden. Serio serves as the Co-chair of the Local Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk.
