Timo Werner is a professional footballer from Germany who plays as a striker for the German national team. As of June 18, 2020, his contract to play with Chelsea FC was accepted. This was an agreement that was bound for a £47.5m transfer with the Premier League club.
Timo Werner was born in Germany where he showed interest in playing football from an early age. This made his father start training him in order to build his strength and skills right from the grassroots.
Despite his interests in football, his father ensured that Timo completed his high school. In high school, Timo Wener joined TSV Steinhaldenfeld where he rapidly built his football skills thus catching the attention of VfB Stuttgart scouts.
They then enrolled him in the team immediately after he left high school.
While in Stuttgart, Timo was promoted to the U-19 team where he put up a show by scoring 24 goals during the campaign and was awarded a Gold medal.

All along, he claimed the home record of the youngest player to rise through 50, 100, 150, to 200 appearances in the Bundesliga. However, his two records were broken by Kai Havertz, the youngest player to have scored two goals in a single high neck match in Germany.
In addition, he was a renowned goalscorer at the youth international level where he scored 34 goals in 48 appearances across various age groups. He made his major debut in 2017, helping his nation secure the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. This was through his return of three goals which earned later earned him the tournament’s Golden Boot award.
Werner reached his 50 Bundesliga goals in the 2018/19 season becoming the first RB Leipzig player to score 50 goals. During the 2019/20 season, he scored his first hat-trick in the Bundesliga.
After a four-year stay in RB Leipzig, Timo agreed on a deal to play with the Chelsea FC in June 2020 where he is officially set to join the team in July 2020.
