Tom Holland Biography
Thomas Stanley Holland, popularly known as Tom Holland is an English actor and dancer born on June 1, 1996, and started acting in 2008. He gained recognition in 2012 after featuring in The Impossible (2012) and further gained further worldwide recognition for playing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Since his debut, he has been featuring in big films. He also played Peter Parker in the iconic film, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Other big projects include Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).
The superstar started acting at age 12 where he played Billy Elliot the Musical, a film which eventually had the opportunity to meet the then Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Gordon Brown. At the same age of 12, he made his first appearance on Television in an interview session with Channel 5.
In 2008, Tom Holland, who was born in England in 1996, joined the London production of Billy Elliot the Musical. Based on a true story about the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, Holland starred as an adolescent caring for his injured mother (Naomi Watts) while searching for his missing father (Ewan McGregor), earning him a slew of awards nominations. Holland received a supporting role in the 2015 BBC historical miniseries, Wolf Hall, after a role in the drama How I Live Now (2013). His route to global prominence was beginning shortly after with the revelation that he will play Peter Parker in the newest version of Spider-Man.
Unlike his predecessors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who were both in their mid-to-late 20s when they were cast as Spider-Man, Holland, who was 19 at the time, was much younger than Peter Parker’s troubled high school student turned superhero.
Holland collaborated with Will Smith on the animated adventure Spies in Disguise in late 2019. He subsequently went on to voice Jip the dog in the star-studded Dolittle (2020), before returning to Pixar for another big voice role in Onward.
