Tyrone Edwards Biography
Tyrone Edwards is a Canadian television broadcaster and entrepreneur, currently the cohost of CTV’s entertainment magazine eTalk. Edwards is known for his work in the Bible Tells Me So (2007), Confidence (2011), and Celebrity Style Story (2012). He has also co-hosted the TSN original social media series 6IX Degrees.
He was born and grew up in Toronto’s west end and attended Hillsdale College in Michigan. While there, he played NCAA basketball while studying Business and Speech. After graduating from college, Edwards was hired by RAPCITY as a host before becoming a host on Much and E! He also hosted the Much Icons social media series, co-hosted the Golden Globes for E!, and It List: California, the annual E! Travel special.
Moreover, he also co-hosted events like the Iheartradio MMVAs, Much Countdown, and Iheartradio MMA Red Carpet. Before he was hired as a journalist, Tyrone was a prominent person in Toronto as a partner in 1LoveTO, a Toronto community and entertainment blog that expanded by 2011 into a clothing line. The show was created by the network in response to the global anti-racism protests. That followed after the murder of George Floyd and the concurrent Canadian controversy around the death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet. Besides that, Tyrone has co-hosted the TSN original social media series 6IX Degrees and hosted CTV Life Channel’s original cooking series, DNA DINNERS. He also co-hosts with his eTalk colleague Chloe Wilde of the TIFF Tribute Awards telecast for the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival.
Apart from his work as a journalist, Tyrone founded an organization called Concrete Hoops. He is the leader of the organization that helps kids from all 13 priority neighborhoods in Toronto learn the fundamentals of the arts and entertainment business. Also assists them in their educational aspirations. For his work, Edwards received the 2016 Mandela Legacy Hope, Success, and Empowerment Award, alongside Naomi Campbell.
