George Murdoch also known by his stage name Tyrus is an American professional wrestler, who is currently signed with NWA. He is notable for his work with WWE as Brodus Clay and Tyrus with NWA and Impact Wrestling. Moreover, Murdoch won the NWA World Television Championship, as well as released his autobiography Just Tyrus: A Memoir in 2022. In addition, George is also a regular contributor on Fox News host Dana Perino’s former daytime news show, The Daily Briefing.
George was born and brought up in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. He completed his high school studies at Quartz Hill High School in Los Angeles County, California, and then he attended Antelope Valley College. He played college football during his school days. After that, he enrolled at the Nebraska University at Kearney, where he studied to become a teacher. In addition, he has stated that his football career ended when surgery to remove a ruptured appendix severed nerves in his leg, leaving him with a permanent limp. Murdoch has worked as a bodyguard for Snoop Dogg.
In 2006, he worked on a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and began working for their developmental territories, such as DSW and FCW. After that, he left the company in 2008 and was renamed Broduc Clay. Moreover, he was featured in the third season of NXT and aligned himself with Alberto Del Rio. Next, he accompanied Del Rio on SmackDown, and later after they were defeated by Christian and Edge who won the world title.

Likewise, he also repackaged The Funkasauras and later formed a team with Tensai called Tons of Funk. At TLC, Clay turned on Tensai where he was defeated by Tensai, Xavier Woods, and R-ruth before leaving the company. In 2014, Murdoch changed his name to Tyrus and signed a contract with Impact Wrestling. There he aligned himself as EC3’s bodyguard before he went on to win a gauntlet for the gold match. After that, he becomes a number-one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
Furthermore, he also collaborated with several wrestlers and failed to win the TNA World Tag Team Championships and therefore, he left the company. Some years later, he returned and defeated EC3. Afterward, he signed a contract with NWA and started feuding with Da Pope and won the NWA World Television Championship. During his reign, Tyrus has defended many NWA Championships such as Jordan Clearwater, Cyon, Jaden Roller, Rodney Mack, Mims, and Odinson.
On top of that, he also holds the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship belt, which was featured in a commercial for Fox News Channel’s talk show ‘Gutfeld!’.Before his work, George is also a guest commentator on The Greg Gutfeld Show. Besides this, he also appeared on various programs on Fox News Channel, including The Five. Subsequently, he became a regular contributor on Fox News host Dana Perino’s former daytime news show, The Daily Briefing.
