Valerie Castro is an American journalist who is currently working in New York as a correspondent at CNBC since joining the station in May 2021. Prior to joining CNBC, Castro worked for 10 months as an anchor at NBCUniversal. She is a proud graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism.
Her first internship was at ABC News where she served for a period of 4 months. Additionally, she interned at KCNC-TV in August 2005. However, after 5 months of working as a newsroom intern, she left the station in December 2005.
She landed her first job as a reporter, anchor, and photographer at KOBF-TV. This was in August 2006. However, after one year, she left the station. Later in July 2007, she joined KOB-TV as a reporter and anchor but left the station in December 2009 after working for 2 years and 6 months.
