Monica Aldama Biography
Monica Aldama is an American cheerleader coach, well known for appearing in Netflix’s popular 2020 TV Series Cheer. She has also appeared on the TV show Dancing with the Stars. Additionally, she has been a coach of the popular cheerleading squad at Navaro College in Corsicana, Texas. Aldama is a 14-time NCA Collegiate National Cheer Champion.
Monica graduated from Corsicana High School and later enrolled at Tyler Junior College and joined the cheerleading squad. Unfortunately, she transferred to the University of Texas at Austin where she attained a B.B.A. in Finance from the McCombs School of Business. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Later on, she went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Master of Business Administration.
Under Aldama’s leadership, the Navarro College Bulldogs have acquired a national reputation for cheerleading excellence. Her teams have won 14 NCA National Championships in their division, as well as five Grand National Designations, since 2000. Her squad also owns the NCA College Nationals record for the highest score. Monica’s cheerleading team is referred to as a dynasty, and her athletes refer to her as the Queen. As a result of her achievement, Aldama has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Oprah’s live tour.
Monica was also a part of the Netflix docuseries “Cheer” in 2020, which promoted the sport by focusing on the 201 Navarro College cheerleading team. Aldama was named as a contestant in the 29th season of Dancing with the Stars on September 2, 2020. She was paired with Val Chmerkovskiy and placed 10th after being eliminated in the seventh week.
