Robbin Simmons is an American journalist who presently works at WSVN as the co-anchor of 7 News at 5, 6, and 10 on weekends. Simmons studied Italian throughout high school and college after falling in love with the language during a trip to Italy while still in high school. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa. She also holds a journalism master’s degree from Northwestern University.
Robin has been an anchor and reporter for WDIV-TV in Detroit since 2004. Despite joining WDIV, she spent three years at WSVN as a general assignment reporter before being elevated to Saturday morning weekend anchor. During his time at WSVN, Simmons covered everything from the Elian Gonzalez case to Timothy McVeigh’s execution and the 2000 presidential election. She also covered the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and visited the Vatican in March 2014 to report on President Obama’s meeting with Pope Francis.
