Shane Coopersmith is an American Deckhand and television personality who rose to fame for starring on Below Deck in February 2020. Coopersmith is a native of California who grew up in the waters and learned how to swim before he could walk. He grew up surfing, camping, and spearfishing. Being a talented spearfisher, he loves implementing his environmentalist ideals for his charter guest and crew by diving beneath the wave to catch, clean, and eat food.
The show, Below Deck is all about a group of young people who work aboard yachts and live aboard luxurious, privately owned vessels while making sure that their demanding clients’ ever-changing needs are met.
Coopersmith studied at Carlsbad High School and graduated in 2015. For further study, he later attended the University of Berkeley where he obtained a degree in Sustainable Environmental Design. His passion and mission were to make the planet more sustainable.
