Bryan Kohberger is an American Psychologist, Ph. D student and Assistant Instructor who was arrested and taken to court as the main suspect behind the murder of four victims at the University of Idaho. Bryan has been present during his ongoing trials in court since June 26, 2023. He is currently charged with four counts of murder of Ethan Chapin (20 years old) from Conway Washington, Kaylee Gonclaves (21 years old ) from Rathdrum, Idaho, Xana Kernodle (20 years old) from Arizona and Madison Mohen (21 years old) from Idaho. The four victims were murdered on November 13, 2022, in their sleep at an off-campus three-story rented home in Moscow, Idaho.
Kohberger was born and raised in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, United States. He grew up in a working-class Caucasian -American family with both parents present throughout his whole life. Growing up, Bryan was described as a silent and clever kid who studied hard in school and got good grades. He never exhibited any kind of violent behavior as a child. However, things changed because he was a very creepy overweight kid who was always bullied by girls throughout high school. This prompted him to lose about 36 kilograms and become an aggressive bully as well.
Bryan attended the Pleasure Valley High School based in Brodheadsville and graduated in 2013. He then enrolled at the Technical Institute in Brownsville but he dropped out. In 2018, Bryan received an Associate degree in Sychlogy from Bethlehem’s Northampton Community College. He then joined DeSales University in Center Valley Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and M.A in Criminal Justice both in 2020 and 2022 respectively.
During his arrest, Bryan worked as a Ph.D. criminal justice student and a teacher at Washington State University in Pullman. He had just concluded nine days of his semester before the Police took him away. His charges center around the chain of events that happened the night the four victims were murdered in November 2022. The three female victims stayed in the same house while Ethan who was the fourth victim was one of the ladies’ boyfriends who stayed for the night that tragic night.
Additionally, there were other two female victims in the house but they slept through without being attacked. The news of the murder shocked Idaho because the last time there was a murder was in 2015. In December 2022, Bryan was arrested as the main suspect in the four gruesome murders at his parents’ house situated in Chestnuthill Township. His arrest came after the police found incriminating evidence against him. One of them was a cheek swab revealing his DNA which matched the DNA found in the evidence at the crime scene. On June 26, 2023, Idaho prosecutors vehemently agreed to table the Death penalty sentence on Bryan as the only suspect in the Idaho Studne Stabbing incident. In an interview, one of the Prosecutors named Bill Thompson revealed that there are no mitigating circumstances that prevent prosecutors from considering penalties including capital punishment.
