Alex Backus is an American journalist who works as a news anchor at 8 News Now, KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, Nevada. Backus joined Good Day in August 2019 as a co-anchor for the weekday morning show, which airs from 4 to 7 a.m.
Alex previously spent four years as a morning anchor and reporter at KGPE-TV in Fresno, California. She previously worked as a morning reporter for KHSL-TV in Chico-Redding, California.
Alex also spent nearly two years as a West Coast Ambassador for Dr. Schar. Despite this, she worked as an anchor, producer, and reporter at KRTV in Great Falls, Montana. She also worked as an Assistant Event Coordinator for Two Guys Catering for three years. Previously, Backus worked at CSU Stanislaus in Turlock, California as an anchor, producer, and news editor. Moreover, she interned with KCRA 3 in Sacramento, California for a period of 9 months.
