Paul Lisnek is a multiple-Emmy, Telly, and Beacon Award-winning television host and analyst who has been working as a political analyst for WGN-TV since 2008. Lisnek is the host of Politics Tonight on CLTV, on which he interviews the leading political figures in the city, state, and country. He also serves as a fill-in anchor at the station.

Lisnek attended the University of Illinois in 1980 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and an M.A. in Speech communication. In 1983, Paul received a JD. from the University of Illinois College of Law. Later in 1986, he completed his Ph.D. in speech communication at the same institution.

He started his career as the Assistant Dean at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law and was a visiting professor at Pepperdine University School of Law’s Institute for Dispute Resolution, DePaul University, and the University of Illinois. In 1991, Paul founded the consulting firm Lisnek & Associates. He is also the co-founder and current CEO of Decision Analysis. It is a California-based national legal consulting firm specializing in jury selection.

Paul is a lecturer at BarBri on the subjects of constitutional law, professionalism, and ethics. Moreover, he is a former commissioner and inquiry panel chairperson for the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. It is a position he held for 25 years and for which he was recognized in 2009 by the Illinois Attorney and Disciplinary Commission.

As the host of Politics Tonight on CLTV, Paul has interviewed presidents, governors, senators, congressmen, local representatives, and mayors too numerous to count over the last 25 years.

He can also be heard on wgnradio.com, where he hosts a podcast called “Behind the Curtain,” which addresses politics, theatre, and other areas of interest to Chicagoland.

Lisnek is a frequent guest on WGN-AM radio programs and other radio stations where he discusses the politics of the day. He also anchors Newsmakers and hosts Broadway in Chicago Backstage in front of a live studio audience for the Comcast Network. The Museum of Broadcast Communication in Chicago opened the Paul M. Lisnek Gallery, which features a permanent exhibit detailing and honoring Lisnek’s long career in television.
