Alex Villarreal is an American journalist who has been working as a reporter and anchor at WESH 2 News since June 2015. Villarreal became the Weekend Anchor for WESH 2 News in 2016. Prior to joining her current station, she spent nearly eight years in the nation’s capital.
Furthermore, this renowned journalist is a proud graduate of Broadcasting Journalism from North Carolina University at Chapel Hill.
Most notably, she began her career at Voice of America as the 2007-2008 Charles Kuralt Fellow in International Broadcasting. She worked there as a journalist and reporter and covered a wide range of domestic and international news.
Currently, she works at WESH 2 News, where she joined in June 2015. Additionally, she was made the weekend anchor for the station in 2016.
