Alison Starling is an American journalist working as a television news anchor. Starling joined WJLA-TV in August 2003 where she co-anchors weekday newscasts.
During her tenure, she has received more than seven Emmy awards for her work as a lead journalist. Alison has provided coverage for local and national news such as Hurricane Isabel in 2003, the Tech Shooting in Virginia in 2007, and Papal Mass from the Nationals Ballpark in April 2008.
Formerly, Alison worked with KIRO-TV in Seattle where she covered the Seattle earthquake, the Tacoma connection to the DC sniper case, and the aftermath of the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy life from Texas. She had also worked as a reporter and a morning anchor at WDEF in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Starling took over from Kathleen Matthews in the popular series Working Woman in November 2006. Alison also writes and produces reports about exemplary women.
Moving on to her awards, Alison has been awarded several Emmy awards including Best Anchor and Continued Coverage for the 2011 Earthquake. In 2013, she won again for her role in the ABC7 special coverage on Pope Francis and continued coverage of the Baltimore Riots in 2015. Later, she was recognized in 2018 for continued coverage of the Capital Gazette Shooting.
