Andrea Grymes Biography
Andrea Grymes is an American journalist and reporter currently working for CBS 2 based in New York as a general assignment reporter and co-anchor for the CBS weekend morning newscast. Grymes realized her passion for broadcasting at the age of 16 after the delivery of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C. Before joining CBS 2, she worked for WNYW-TV from March 2013 until now in New York.
Grymes attended and graduated from Methodist University in Dallas with a double major in journalism and political science. When she was at university, she did an internship at FOX News Channel.
Andrea is currently working as the general assignment reporter and co-anchor for CBS 2 since 2013. In 2017, she covered President Trump’s tour in Italy and Israel while working in CBS 2. She covered live coverage from the White House and the United States Capitol. Additionally, she has also reported on Pop Francis’ trip to New York and also the arrest of the Chelsea and Seaside Heights bombing suspect. Before Andrea joined CBS 2, she was working in New York for WNYW-TV.
Previously, Andrea worked at WNYW-TV from March 2013 to March 2014 in New York. She reported on Prince Harry’s visit to Harlem, post-Superstorm Sandy rebuilding efforts, and also the efforts made by local security after the Boston Marathon Bombings.
Grymes began her career in 2006 at News 12 and worked at some of its affiliates, including News 12 Brooklyn, News 12 Long Island, and News 12 The Bronx. Andrea served as a reporter and an anchor for around seven years. She reported on the Miracle on the Hudson, Pope Benedict’s trip to New York, Superstorm Sandy, and the Nixzmary Brown murder trials.
