Vogel was born and raised in California, United States. She graduated from Southern California University with a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and political science. Soon after graduation, she was hired as a desk assistant at ABC News in Washington. Anita moved from ABC News to work at KCRA in Sacramento. Where she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Later, Anita served as a reporter for WTLV-TV (NBC) in Jacksonville, Florida, and WJET-TV (ABC) in Erie, Pennsylvania.
