In 2010, Arwa covered the Arab Spring, the uprising in Libya, and Egypt. Later in 2012, she is noted as one of the first journalists to arrive at the scene of the Benghazi attack, reporting its current scene and its aftermath.

Damon covered a personal diary of slain Ambassador Christoper Stevens from the scene which further laid light on the truth of the attack. She later traveled to West Africa to follow the pursuit of Boko Haram, a group that kidnapped more than 200 Nigerian girls from their school in Chibok.
