Brittany Johnson is an American award-winning journalist currently serving at KCRA 3 Investigates. In September 2020, she become part of the KCRA 3 Investigates team. She comes to Sacramento from KTVX in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she worked as a reporter and anchor.
Brittany’s love for investigative reporting and business reporting led her to cooperate with Utah’s Attorney General and the United States Marshals Service to provide audiences with unprecedented access to the state’s human trafficking and child sex offenses.
Brittany’s work has influenced policy changes in the past. She realized that slavery was still permitted as a form of punishment in the Utah constitution. After breaking the news, Utah State Representative Sandra Hollins quickly filed a measure to remove the provision from the state constitution. Brittany’s findings resulted in a postponement of the November 2020 election due to her tenacity.
Before joining KTVX, Brittany worked as a news assistant and guest booker at KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles. She also worked as a field producer with David Goldstein, an award-winning investigative reporter. Brittany was instrumental in uncovering government wrongdoing and the waste of taxpayer funds.
