Asa Butterfield is an English actor who received nominations for three British Independent Film Awards, two Critics Choice Awards, two Saturn Awards, and three Young Artist Awards. He is famous for starring as Hugo Cabret in Hugo (2011), and Otis in Sex Education (2019-present).
He began his career as a child actor and gained recognition as the lead of the historical drama film The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas (2008). In the same year, he had a guest role-playing Donny in Ashes to Ashes. He also portrayed Mordred in the Merlin episode “The Beginning of the End”.
In 2010. he has a small role in The Wolfman where he portrayed Young Ben Talbot. After the shooting of Ender’s Game, he was cast in X+Y as Nathan Ellis. His performance received widespread critical acclaim and saw him nominated for the BIFA Award for Best Actor.
