Brianna Keilar is a senior political correspondent and news anchor for CNN in the Washington, D.C. bureau. Previously, Keilar worked as a White House correspondent, general assignment correspondent, and Congregational correspondent for CNN in Washington.
Born and raised in Australia, her family relocated to the United States where they settled in Orange County, California. Keilar then joined Mission Viejo High School later graduating in 1998. For her university studies, Brianna joined the University of California, Berkeley graduating with a Phi Beta Kappa in 2001 with a dual bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Psychology.
Keilar started her broadcast career in Yakima, Washington at the CBS affiliate network, KIMA. She then moved to KFFM where she co-hosted the morning drive show,’ Billy Blue and Brianna, too: The Morning Zoo’. Keilar joined CNN as a news correspondent for CNN Newsource. In this position, she was providing breaking news coverage and reports from the nation’s capital for approximately 800 CNN Newsource partner stations.
She landed this job right from CBS News where she worked as an anchor, news reporter, and producer for a CBS newscast that broadcasts on mtvU, MTV’s college network. In CBS, Brianna also filled in as an anchor on CBS News’ overnight newscast, Up to the Minute.
