Brittany Schmidt is an American journalist who is currently working as a weekend anchor and reporter at WBAY Action 2 News. She worked at WKBT as an anchor and reporter before joining Action 2 News.
Born and raised in the city of Algoma, she attended and graduated from Algoma High School in 2007. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin where she graduated with a degree in Journalism in 2012. After graduating, she started her career working at WKOW-TV in Madison as a morning producer. It was at this station that she learned how to be a journalist and has since not looked back.
After a few years of service at WKOW-TV, she moved to La Crosse where she worked as a reporter at WKBT-TV. While there, she ended up winning awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for her investigative work and live on-scene reporting. In addition, she won 1st place for an investigative report from the Midwest Broadcast Association in 2016.
Brittany actually enjoyed her stay in Madison and La Crosse, but she always knew she wanted to go back home. She is really excited to be back home working at WBAY-TV as a weekend anchor and reporter. She loves anything sports related and spends her free time hanging out with her family and friends.
