Caitlin Nuclo is an award-winning American journalist who currently works at WFSB as a weekend morning anchor. In 2017, she became a member of the station. Nucleo began her journalism career at WFSB, and she is thrilled to be returning to the station. She interned with the station in 2007.
In the year 2000, Nuclo graduated from Hamden High School. She later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Connecticut in 2008.
Caitlin also spent seven years reporting and anchoring at several stations in Eastern New York before returning to Norwalk in 2015 to take up an anchor position at News 12 Connecticut. She has covered severe weather events, flown with the Blue Angels, and met a number of wonderful people who have trusted her to tell their stories.
Caitlin has won numerous accolades, including one for her coverage of the Binghamton, New York, mass shooting in 2009. The New York State Broadcasters Association, the Syracuse Press Club, and the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists have all recognized her work.
Before joining WFSB, Nuclo worked as a news anchor at News 12 Connecticut from June 2015 to April 2017. She previously worked as a news reporter for News Channel 9 WSYR from June 2012 to June 2015. She worked as an anchor and reporter at WBNG TV from June 2008 to June 2010, and then as an anchor at CNY Central from June 2010 to June 2012.
