Chantal Janzen Biography
Chantal Janzen is a Dutch actress, singer, and TV presenter. As a presenter, she is well-known for co-hosting the Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light and the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Jansen is also famous for starring in movies and appearing in music production such as Beauty and the Beast, Wicked, and Tarzan. Moreover, she was born and raised in Tegelen, Netherlands
She attended and graduated from HAVO in Tegelen and later she studies musical dance and jazz at Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam. While there at school she joined the group dance Jazzcool where she performed in various stage plays. After that, she appeared in several TV shows such as De Band, Meiden van De Wit, and Kinderen Geen Bezwaar. Aside from that, Janzen also works as a presenter for the Dutch version of Idols and Staatsloterij Live.
In the film, she has starred in several films including Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, Volle Maan, Alles is Liefde, Kicks, and the TV film Loverboy. As a singer, Chantal released her first single in 2002 called “Achter De Sterren”. That same year, she won the John Kraaijkamp Musical Award. Next, she appeared in a supporting role for the musical Crazy For You for which she won the musical award. In the following year, Janzen was nominated for the Best female lead in 2006 as Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

In 2010, she went on to be featured in the musical Petticoat as well as in the musical Wicked. Later, she signed with RTL after her contract with the Dutch TV AVRO ended. A year later, Chantal appeared in a small role in Goede Tijden, slechte tijden, in which she reprised her role in the same series in 2019.
From 2015 to 2016, she worked as a host in Germany at the Superkid and The Voice Kids show. Additionally, she also hosted various shows such as Everybody Dance Now, Time To Dance, and The Voice of Holland among others. Aside from that, Janzen joined the “Wall of the World” in the American television show The World’s Best in 2019. Later after that year, she served as a presenter alongside Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit in the show called Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam. However, the show had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was replaced with Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light.
