Chasity Maxie is an American journalist who is currently working as a reporter, producer, and anchor at WBRC FOX6 News since joining the station in April 2020. Prior to joining her current station, she worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer at WTVY TV in Dothan.
Born in Chicago, Maxie graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. She furthered her education at Columbia College Chicago earning a master’s in journalism.
After graduating, Maxie landed her first job in Peoria, Illinois at WHOI-TV. There, she produced, anchored, hosted, and reported the station’s webcast. Years later, she joined WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo, Michigan as the 10 pm producer. After years of working, Maxie returned to school to earn a master’s in teaching from National Louis University.
She spent the next 5 years teaching third grades in Chicago Public School. However, when an opportunity came at WTVY-TV in Dothan, Maxie took it with no hesitation. This is because although she was in the class physically, her heart never left the newsroom.
Maxie would spend the next year at WTVY’s sister station, WRGX as an anchor. Passionate about her work and wanting to improve her skills, Maxie accepted an opportunity at WBRC as a reporter and Multi-media Journalist.
She officially began working at WBRC in April of 2020 and has been here ever since. When off her duties, she enjoys eating at new restaurants, chatting on the phone with family and friends, and reading books.
