Chris Plante is an American journalist hosting a syndicated radio talk show at WMAL Radio in Washington DC. Plante airs his shows from 9 am to 11 am on weekdays at 105.9FM since October 2009 with guest hosts being Mike Opelka and Mary Walter. Formally, he worked as a Pentagon Correspondent at CNN for 17 years.
During that time, he reported on the Pentagon and US Military. He made several trips including Vietnam, Indonesia, Africa, Saudi Arabia, interior parts of the former Soviet Union, and Bosnia where he went to work as a Military Affair Producer, an assignment editor, and a Senior Producer for National Security Affairs.
Chris received the Edward R. Murrow Award for a complete report on the terrorist attack that took place on September 11th, 2001 from the Radio and Television News Director’s Association (RTNDA).
Plante graduated from a local high school with his degree. Later, Chris joined the University of California in Santa Barbara where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1982.
