Chrissy Metz is an award-winning American actress and singer from Florida, USA. She rose to prominence by playing the role of Kate Person on This is Us from 2018 to 2022. Metz also gained more fame and recognition for her other roles in Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018) and Breakthrough (2019). Her other famous roles are in Loveless in Los Angeles, Stay Awake, A Creature Was Stirring and Entourage.
Metz was born and brought up in the northern suburbs of Homestead, Florida. However, Metz also spent a few years of her early childhood life in Japan after her father was stationed there by the US Navy. She was able to finish her middle school and high school education in Gainesville, Florida after her family moved from Japan. She also furthered her studies at an arts college based in Florida.
Before launching her acting career, Chrissy used to work at McDonald’s restaurant based in Gainesville. She worked there to raise money to buy a pair of $120 dollar sneakers that her mother refused to buy her.
