Courtney Godfrey Biography
Courtney Godfrey is a renowned American journalist currently working at FOX 9 News in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a reporter and anchor. Godfrey joined Fox 9 in June 2015 from WDRB News in Louisville, Kentucky Area where she worked as a news reporter. In addition, she worked at KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minnesota as a Morning anchor and multimedia journalist.
Courtney grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She then attended the University of Arizona for her undergraduate degree in Communications. Godfrey also holds a Masters’s degree in Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.
During her undergraduate years, Courtney interned at KGO-TV in San Francisco, California. In May 2007, she moved to Long Beach, California where she served as an Editorial Intern at The District Weekly. In addition, Courtney interned at KTVU/Fox 2 News in Oakland, California for 8 months.
Godfrey had her last internship at WCCNMoney.com as a production intern in May 2010 before moving to Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism where she served as a graduate assistant.

Courtney landed her first job at Cronkite News, PBS, Arizona State University, where she served as a news anchor and multimedia journalist. After spending 5 months in Phoenix, Arizona, Godfrey moved to KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minnesota where she served as a morning anchor and multimedia journalist.
Courtney’s next step landed her in Louisville, Kentucky Area where she worked as a news reporter for WDRB News between April 2013 and May 2015. Eventually, Godfrey joined KMSP Fox 9 News in the Greater Minneapolis area where she serves as a news reporter.
Courtney is a member of the board of amputee non-profit Wiggle Your Toes Organization and makes frequent visits to new hospital patient amputees. When she is not working, Godfrey talks to Twin Cities School Children and shares her story of resilience, while giving them tools for adapting to change.
