DaBaby Rapper aka Baby Jesus ( Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, Born on December 21, 1991 ) is an American rapper and songwriter from Charlotte, North Carolina. He came to widespread stardom in 2019 after releasing multiple mixtapes between 2014 and 2018.

He joined Vance High School where he later graduated in 2010. In 2015, he started his music career with his debut mixtape, Nonfiction. He is best known for his single “Suge”, the main single off his debut studio album, Baby on Baby (2019). His other standout singles include Light SHow, First Day Out, and Above The Rim a track he featured Money Man.

“Suge” rose to commercial success and featured at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. With the success of the single, Baby on Baby that rose to number 7 on the Billboard 200, the star released his second studio album, Kirk months later.

He chased this with his God’s work mixtape series, Baby Talk mixtape series, Billion Dollar Baby, and Back on My Baby Jesus Sh*t. It featured at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, becoming his first album to top the chart.

He is also well known for his baby talk mixtape series. At the age of 6, Baby relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. He grew around the rough environment and often run-ins with the law. Over the years, he developed quite a track record.

Crimes ranging from driving with a revoked driver’s license to illegal possession of marijuana got him arrested on various occasions.

He got into music with the only aim of helping people. The star wanted to touch and influence people’s life and so he chose music to serve that purpose.

In December 2014, he started rapping to a serious level. His first rap style stage name was the moniker Baby Jesus but later changed to his current name Da Baby.

On November 6, 2018, the news struck that Dababy allegedly shot and killed a man who tried to rob him in Wal-Mart. However, that was an allegation. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Jalyn Domonique Craig.

The incident turned to be legit that he defended himself against an armed robber. After the case hearing, he received a one-year unsupervised probationary Sentence.

On March 1, 2019, Jonathan’s debut studio album, Baby on Baby was launched via Interscope Records. This track featured Offset, Rich Homie Quan, Stunna Vegas, and Rich The Kid. He is also a signed rapper to South Coast Music Group where he has a contract with both labels.

He also has other great works in 2019 where he featured in XXL’s Freshman class of 2019 a record that also involved Tierra Whack, Rico Nasty, Megan Thee Stallion, and many more.
