Damson Idris is a popular British-Nigerian actor and celebrity currently known for starring in an ongoing Tv series on Amazon Prime called Swarm since 2023. He also plays a starring role in a famous crime drama called Snowfall. Damson is also recognized for playing other roles in British films like Miranda (2013), Doctors (2015) and Casualty (2015) during his early years as an upcoming actor. Additionally, Idris has also appeared in various theatre plays like Khadija is 18 (2012), Pandoras”s Box (2012), Ghost Town (2013) ad The Hotel (2014).
Idris is a British-Nigerian national who was born and brought up in Peckham, London United Kingdom. His parents are Nigerian immigrants who settled in the South-East Part of London before Idris was born. Damson grew up as the youngest child in a family of six children. He also liked to play football while he was growing up. Damson even dreamed of being the next Christiano Ronaldo when he grew up. He even played rugby while he was in high school. Damson was able to meet Queen Elizabeth II back in 2002 and shook her hand after his Rugby team took part in the Queen’s Jubilee in 2002. Damson made his first debut as an actor by joining Theatre and playing a supporting role in Pandora’s Box back in 2012 at the Royal National Theatre. He was also trained on how to perfect his acting skills at the Identity School of Acting. Idris then left the theatre in 2013 and made his first on-screen debut in a British daytime Tv series called Miranda. The show earned him credibility as an actor. Therefore, he was able to land other roles in TV series like Doctors (2015) and Casualty (2015).
In 2015, Damson made his first big screen acting debut by starring in a British Thriller called City of Tiny Lights alongside RizAhend. His first American film was the popular Megan Leavey film starring Kate Mara. Idris then went on to play supporting roles in other American films like The Commuter, Farming and the fifth season of Black Mirror. As of 2023, Idris plays the role of Khalid in Amazon’s news Series, Swarmalongside American popstar, Billie Eilish, Chloe Bailey and an ensemble cast.
